Gear Racks

Geartronics has been supplying gear racks for over 80 years, with many of our early designs still in use today. Gear racks are the most basic type of gear having straight-sided teeth that are parallel to the axis of rotation of a mating pinion gear. The rack and pinion mechanism is most commonly used to convert the rotational motion of the motor-driven pinion to the linear motion of the rack. The teeth of gear racks are either straight like that of spur gears or angled like helical gears.
